General objective: To determine if the demonstration session plus counseling has a greater positive impact than just counseling, in the recovery of anemia in the 6-month period of treatment in the Metropolitan CAP III Piura 2018-2019. Material and method: A retrospective cohort study was carried out with data collection from the base of the program against childhood anemia of metropolitan CAP III - Piura in 2018 and 2019, through a collection sheet. Results: Of a total of 91 children included in the study, 59.3% were boys. An average basal hemoglobin of 10 ± 0.8gr / dl was found. 58.2% of the cases were mild anemia. Hemoglobin after 6 months of treatment had an average of 11.18 ± 11.01gr / dl. No significant difference was found regarding anemia recovery between children who received counseling only and those who received a demonstration session and counseling, at 3 months of treatment (P: 0.36) and at 6 months of treatment (P: 0.94). It was found that 60.4% of the children achieved recovery (Hemoglobin> 11.0gr / dl) at the end of the program (P <0.05). Conclusion: The program against childhood anemia achieved more than 50% of recovered. There is no difference between the demonstration session plus counseling and the counseling alone in the positive impact on the recovery of the population. The increase in hemoglobin over time could be verified, with a significant increase from the 3rd to the 6th month.
