apendicitis aguda complicada (OR = 12,819 IC 95% [3,025-54,330], p = 0,001).
Objective: To determine morbidity risk factors (postoperative complications) after incisional appendectomy for acute appendicitis. Method: This study corresponds to a case-control design involving 110 patients with acute appendicitis, cases (55 patients with postoperative complications) and controls (55 patients without postoperative complications), all of them at the Hospital José H. Soto Cadenillas of Chota, Cajamarca. Results: The bivariate analysis between the clinical characteristics and the presence of postoperative complications found that age, ASA, the presence of complicated acute appendicitis, the time of illness, the surgical void, the operative time, the white blood cell count and the hospital stay, were associated with the presence of postoperative complications (p < 0.001); multivariate analysis identified as independent variables associated with the presence of postoperative complications at operative time (OR = 1.087; 95% CI [1.020-1.159], p = 0.011) and the presence of complicated acute appendicitis (OR = 12.819; 95% CI [3.025 -54.330], p = 0.001). Conclusions: Postoperative morbidity (complications) was associated with operative time and the presence of complicated acute appendicitis.
