DRESS syndrome is a severe adverse drug response characterized by a morbilliform rash, fever, and systemic involvement. We show the case of a 76-year-old man who was admitted to the emergency room with a generalized tonic-clonic seizure due to viral meningoencephalitis and 5 weeks after starting treatment, he showed a systemic adverse reaction associated with phenytoin. The management consisted in the suspension of the drug, in addition to means of support and corticosteroids, showing the remission of the clinical picture.
