The purpose of this research was to carry out a structural design of the pavement on Algarrobos Avenue, using the methodology described by AASTHO 93, which allowed us to determine the structural thicknesses of the flexible, rigid and articulated pavement. From the results obtained from the soil mechanics study, it was determined that the road under study is classified as a regular category subgrade since the design CBR is 8.95%, which was obtained from the average of the CBRs of pits N°1, 2 and 3, so by presenting a CBR value greater than 6%, our study area does not require soil improvement. Regarding the traffic study, it can be pointed out that the acting design load of flexible and articulated pavements is 2,988,208.94 EE (equivalent axles), while in the case of rigid pavement, the design load generated by vehicular traffic is 3,329,305.15 EE. It should also be noted that light vehicular traffic predominates in the study area, since 68.54% of the total traffic is composed of motorcycle cabs and linear motorcycles. In the case of the structural design of the three types of pavement, it was determined that according to the technical characteristics of the soil and vehicular traffic, the flexible pavement should have an asphalt layer 7.5 cm thick, a granular base of 25 cm and a subbase of 22.5 cm, while the flexible pavement should have an asphalt layer of 7.5 cm thick, a granular base of 25 cm and a subbase of 22.5 cm, while the flexible pavement should have a subbase of 22.5 cm. 5 cm, while the rigid pavement should have a 20.5 cm thick concrete slab and a 15 cm granular subbase. Finally, it was determined that the structure of the articulated pavement should have an 8 cm concrete paver, a 4 cm sand bed and a 30 cm granular base. With the results of the structural design of the flexible, rigid and articulated pavement, an economic evaluation per square meter was carried out, where it was determined that the flexible pavement has a unit cost of S/.120.53 soles, the rigid pavement of S/.182.51 soles, while the articulated pavement of S/.190.38 soles. Finally, it can be indicated that the flexible pavement is the most suitable for the area under study since it meets the technical and economic conditions for its construction.
