To determine if depression and anxiety are factors associated with obesity in children between 7 and 12 years of age during the COVID 19 pandemic. Material and methods: An analytical, observational, cross-sectional study was carried out. The study population consisted of 166 students between the ages of 7 and 12. According to selection criteria, we have children with depression and anxiety associated with obesity and without it, the Chi square statistical test was applied. Results: The frequency of depression in children between the ages of 7 and 12 years with obesity was 81.5% PR (95% CI) = 4.00 (2.16 - 7.39). The frequency of anxiety in children with obesity was 98% PR (95% CI) = 15.20 (2.18 - 106.24). Other variables such as age with 11%, female sex with 33.8%, social isolation with 35.7%, unhealthy eating with 73.1% and physical activity with 72.7% are risk factors for developing obesity while having a significant association p<0.05. Conclusion: Conclusion: Depression and anxiety are factors associated with obesity in children between 7 and 12 years old during the COVID 19 pandemic in the students of the Alfredo Tello Salavarria Educational Institution in Trujillo
