The purpose of the research was to determine the relationship between resilience and perceived parental competence in high school students of a Public Educational institution in Piura. The study is substantive with a correlational design. The study sample consisted of 235 secondary students in a public educational institution in Piura. The Resilience Scale (ERA) created by Del Aguila and Prado (2000) and the Perceived Parental Competence Scale - Children's Version (ECCP- H) created by Bayot et al. (2008) and validated in a Peruvian context by Aliaga and Barja (2020) were used as instruments. In the present investigation it was found that there is a positive and moderate relationship between the variables; in turn, those evaluated are in a very low category of resilience and perceived parental competence. Therefore, it is concluded that resilient characteristics in adolescents are moderately influenced by the parental competencies of their caregivers or parents.
