Conocimiento y actitud de los Cirujanos Dentistas de La Región La Libertad frente a la Covid-19, noviembre 2020

Abstract

Determinar el nivel de conocimiento y actitud de los cirujanos dentistas de la región la Libertad frente a la COVID-19, noviembre 2020. Metodología: El estudio fue de tipo observacional, descriptivo y transversal. Incluyó un total de 218 cirujanos dentistas registrados en el Colegio Odontológico del Perú de la Región La Libertad hasta el mes de mayo del año 2020. Para la selección de la muestra se usó el método probabilístico aleatorio simple. El nivel de conocimiento y actitud fue evaluado a través de un cuestionario realizado mediante Google Forms de nueve ítems en total, donde cinco preguntas fueron sobre conocimiento y cuatro sobre actitud. Este instrumento fue sometido a validación por expertos y confiablidad mediante una prueba piloto. Los datos recolectados fueron procesados de manera automatizada en el programa estadístico SPSS Statistics 22.0. Resultados: El 52.29% de los cirujanos dentistas tuvo nivel de conocimiento bueno y muy bueno sobre el tema, mientras que entre 99.08% y 100% presentaron una actitud positiva en relación a la prevención de la infección, en considerar que la COVID-19 es un riesgo para la salud de sus pacientes, su salud y la de su familia, así como que es necesario dar recomendaciones a los pacientes sobre el tema Conclusiones: la mayoría de los cirujanos dentistas tuvo un nivel de conocimiento bueno y muy bueno sobre el tema. Asimismo, casi la totalidad de presentaron latitud positiva frente a la prevención de la transmisión de COVID-19

To determine the level of knowledge and attitude of dental surgeons in the region of La Libertad regarding COVID-19, November 2020. Methodology: The study was observational, descriptive and cross-sectional. It included a total of 218 dental surgeons registered in the Peruvian Dental Association of the La Libertad Region up to May 2020. The simple randomized probabilistic method was used to select the sample. The level of knowledge and attitude was evaluated by means of a Google Forms questionnaire with a total of nine items, where five questions were on knowledge and four on attitude. This instrument was subjected to expert validation and reliability through a pilot test. The collected data were processed in an automated way in the statistical program SPSS Statistics 22.0. Results: 52.29% of dental surgeons had good and very good level of knowledge on the subject, while between 99.08% and 100% presented a positive attitude in relation to the prevention of infection, in considering that COVID-19 is a health risk for their patients, their health and their family's health, as well as that it is necessary to give recommendations to patients about it Conclusions: the majority of dental surgeons had a good and very good level of knowledge on the subject. Also, almost all of them had a positive attitude towards the prevention of COVID-19 transmission.
