Determine if maternal age, urinary tract infection, hemorrhage of the second half of pregnancy are associated with preterm labor. Material and Methods: An analytical, observational, retrospective study of cases and controls was carried out. The study population consisted of 141 pregnant women according to established inclusion and exclusion criteria distributed in two groups: with or without preterm labor, the odds ratio and chi square test were calculated. Results: Maternal age over 35 years is a risk factor for preterm delivery with an odds ratio of 6.56 which was significant. Maternal age less than 20 years old is a risk factor for preterm delivery with an odds ratio of 5.46, which was significant. The urinary tract infection is a risk factor for preterm birth with an odds ratio of 4.26 which was significant. Hemorrhage in the second half of pregnancy is a risk factor for preterm birth with an odds ratio of 4.21, which was significant. Conclusions: Maternal age, urinary tract infection, hemorrhage of the second half of pregnancy or the association between these variables are associated with preterm labor.
