to determine whether fetal female sex is a risk factor for early-onset preeclampsia. Study group: patients with early-onset preeclampsia and pregnant controls without preeclampsia, with fetal sex determination. Results: 267 patients were studied, of which 89 were cases and 178 controls. It was found that fetal female sex obtained an OR value 8.17 (95% CI 4.57 - 14.62).
