Objetive: To determine if there is a relationship between uricemia and the neurological functional state in acute ischemic stroke. Material and Methods: An analytical, observational, cross-sectional study was carried out in 151 patients diagnosed with acute isquemic stroke of the Victor Lazarte Echegaray Hospital and Alta Complejidad Virgen de la Puerta Hospital during the period of April 2019 - October 2019 were included. They met the selection criterio. For the análisis of the quialitative varibles the Person Chisquare test was used and for the quantitative variables was the Student T test, for both cases the leve lof significance was 5%. The relationship between both varibles was determined by the Eta static. Results: It was found that there is a direct relationship between serum acid uric and neurological functional status in acute ischemic stroke, with a Eta coefficient of 0.940. 55.6% of the patients had a poor neurological functional prognosis at hospital discharge (mRS≤2) and the serum acid uric levels recorded in this group were more extreme compared to the group with a good prognosis, reporting a minimum of 1.06 mg / dl , a maximum of 9.14 mg / dl and an average of 4.13 mg / dl, while patients with a good prognosis verify a minimum of 1.73 mg / dl, a maximum of 7.79 mg / dl and a mean of 4.40 mg / dl. It was identified that age, the location of the stroke and the maximum mean blood pressure value are related to the neurological functional status at hospital discharge. Conclusion: There is a direct relationship between uricemia and neurological functional state in acute ischemic stroke.
