The present research work focuses on the design and implementation of an electronic prototype based on GPS technology to control the marking of public transport vehicles in the city of Trujillo. In the first chapter of this work, the current reality of the marking systems of public transport companies and the problems caused by the maintenance of obsolete systems are discussed. In the Second Chapter, the background of the investigation is presented, in which the problem of vehicle monitoring is addressed in different ways, which helped us to complement the solution proposed in our investigation. Likewise, the theoretical framework that supports the choice of GPS technology as a basis for our prototype is presented. The third chapter details the methodology applied in the research and the procedure followed for the design of the proposed solution, until the main objective is achieved, which is the implementation of a prototype that meets the requirements of a marking system for transport vehicles public. In the Fourth Chapter the results of the tests done with the implemented prototype are shown in detail. In the Fifth Chapter there is a brief discussion of the results obtained in the tests, analyzing the performance of the prototype. In the Sixth Chapter, the conclusions reached with this thesis work are presented. The Seventh Chapter presents some recommendations that will serve to improve the progress made in the present investigation, in such a way that it will help future researchers.
