The main objective of this thesis was to carry out an experimental study of the energy dissipation of four labyrinth-type landfills and a rectangular type landfill with the same discharge and slope in the Variable Slope Channel of the Antenor Orrego Private University. This study was carried out taking into account two stages; the first one, which consists of the correct calibration of the flow in the variable slope channel by means of volumetric measurements of the real flows; and the second, the analysis of the behavior of the flow through the tests with these prototypes. These stages have been the product of an initial elaboration of prototype designs, based on the bibliographic references and the finalization of the same by means of their construction and laboratory tests. During the development in the laboratory, it was determined that it is possible to use labyrinth-type landfills as energy dissipaters in situations where the flow crosses sections with 0% and 1% slopes.
