OBJECTIVE: Determine if anxiety is a risk factor for exacerbation of psoriasis patients Essalud II Hospital Talara MATERIAL AND METHOD: An observational analytical cross-sectional study was performed, the selection process was conducted under the criteria of inclusion and exclusion, corresponding to the patients treated at the Hospital Essalud II Talara during the period November 2017 February 2018, with the total sample of 122 patients. RESULTS: 122 patients treated prevalence of exacerbation of psoriasis was obtained from 89.34%. Bivariate analysis sick time 6 (4) and 3 (2) (p = 0.001), Pathological anxiety 62.39% and 7.69%; ORc = 19.90 [2.50 to 158.75] (p = 0.001). And Hamilton test26 (13) and 13 (4.5) (p = 0.001); eatuvieron they associated with exacerbation of psoriasis. Multivariate analysis by logistic regression identified that gender, marital status and origin were not associated with exacerbation of psoriasis. CONCLUSIONS: There is an association of anxiety as a factor of exacerbation of psoriasis. The most significant variables were pathological anxiety, sick time, Hamilton test.
