The objective of this work was to determine the in vitro oxytocic effect of the decoction of the leaves of Ocimum basilicum against the crude tuber extract of Ullucus tuberosus, in the estrogenized uterus, isolated from Cavia porcellus, the following experimental pharmacological research work was carried out of Solomon, in the pharmacology laboratory of the Antenor Orrego Private University of Trujillo. For the execution of this research work, 24 Cavia porcellus (guinea pigs), previously estrogenized with 0.1 mg estradiol valerate, were used intramuscularly, using the modified method of Perry WLM (The Rat Uterus Preparation) of increasing stimulation in estrogenized uterus of Cavia porcellus. We worked in four different groups: Group I: Determine the effective dose 50 (ED50) of the decoction of the leaves of Ocimum basilicum in estrogenized uterus, of Cavia porcellus, which was 0.75 ml, Group II: Determine the ED50 of the extract crude oil of Ullucus tuberosus in estrogenized uterus, of Cavia porcellus, which was 0.68 ml, Group III: Application of the ED50 of the decoction of the leaves of Ocimum basilicum in estrogenized uterus, isolated from Cavia porcellus. Group IV: Application of the ED50 of the crude extract of Ullucus tuberosus in estrogenized uterus, isolated from Cavia porcellus. From this investigation it was concluded that according to the comparison of the ED50, the crude extract of Ullucus tuberosus has greater oxytocic effect in vitro in estrogenized uterus, isolated from Cavia porcellus because it presented greater amplitude, frequency and duration, during the contraction in relation to the decoction of the leaves of Ocimum basilicum.
