In order to determine the relationship between re-focused prenatal care and the recurrence and severity of urinary tract infection and anemia in pregnant women, a descriptive correlational cross-sectional study was conducted in a sample of 148 clinical records of pregnant women with urinary tract infection or anemia during her pregnancy that were attended in the Santa Isabel District Hospital, in the El Porvenir District in 2017. The information was recorded in a data collection form. For the statistical analysis, the Chi square test was used, setting the level of significance at p <0.05. It was found that the level of compliance of refocused pre-natal care on pregnant women was 48.6%. The percentage of recurrence of urinary tract infection in pregnant women was 35.8%, while the percentage of severity was mostly asymptomatic bacteriuria being 35.8%, 26.4% and 2.7% in the first, second and third episodes respectively. The percentage of recurrence of anemia in pregnant women was 44.6%, while the percentage of severity was mostly mild being 30.4%, 23%, 6.8% in the first, second and third episode. Refocused prenatal care was significantly related to the lower severity of urinary tract infection in the first episode (p <0.05). While had not relationship with the lower recurrence of this infection in pregnant women. Re-focused prenatal care was significantly related to the lower recurrence and severity of anemia in the first and second episode in pregnant women (p <0.05).
