Objective: To determine if monocytosis is a factor associated with survival in patients with cervical cancer I and IIA of Víctor Lazarte Echegaray Hospital in the period January 2005 - January 2013. Material and Methods: A study was conducted in the HVLE of observational, analytical, retrospective type of cases and controls in the period January 2005 - 2013. Including a total of 31 cases and 93 controls, the association was found using the Odds ratio and the Fisher's Exact Test was used to find the statistical significance with p <0.05. Results: It was found that of the total number of patients who died of cervical cancer, 32% presented monocytosis, in addition to the group of survivors, only 3% presented monocytosis, with a statistically significant association between both variables (P <0.05) and an Odds Ratio 14 , 29 (95% CI). Likewise, according to the anatomopathological diagnosis, the most frequent histological types in the group of cases were squamous cell carcinoma (90%) and adenocarcinoma (10%), in the control group squamous cell carcinoma (92%) and adenocarcinoma (8 %). Regarding the frequency according to the FIGO stage, for the group of cases, IIA2 (60%), IA2 (30%) and IB (10%) were obtained; as for the control group IIA2 (33%), IA2 (19%), IIA1 (15%), IB1 (13%), IA1 (11%), IIB2 (9%). Conclusion: The presence of monocytosis is a risk factor associated more frequently with deceased patients than with the surviving patients with cervical cancer.
