Baja autoestima como factor asociado a dependencia a la red social facebook.

Abstract

Objetivo: Determinar si la baja autoestima es factor asociado a dependencia a la red social de Facebook en estudiantes de secundaria del I.E 80865 Urb. Daniel Hoyle Trujillo. Material y Métodos: Se llevó a cabo un estudio de tipo analítico, observacional, retrospectivo, seccional transversal. La población del estudio estuvo constituida por 40 estudiantes del 3, 4 y 5 grado de secundaria; las cuales fueron divididas en 2 grupos: con y sin dependencia al facebook; se calculó el odds ratio y la prueba chi cuadrado. Resultados: No se apreciaron diferencias significativas entre los grupos de estudio en relación a las variables edad y género. La frecuencia de baja autoestima en estudiante con dependencia al facebook fue 85%. La frecuencia de baja autoestima en estudiantes sin dependencia al facebook fue 20 %. La baja autoestima es un factor asociado a la dependencia a la red social facebook con un odds ratio de 21.73 el cual fue significativo (p<0.05). Conclusiones: Se demuestra que la baja autoestima es factor asociado a dependencia a la red social facebook en estudiantes de secundaria del I.E 80865 Urb. Daniel Hoyle Trujillo.

Material and methods: An analytical, observational, retrospective, transversal section study was carried out. The population of the study was constituted by 40 students of 3, 4 and 5 grade of secondary school; which were divided into 2 groups: with and without dependence on facebook; the odds ratio and the chi square test were calculated. Results: There were no significant differences between the study groups in relation to age and gender variables. The frequency of low self-esteem in students with Facebook dependence was 85%. The frequency of low self-esteem in students without dependence on facebook was 20%.
