The purpose of the current research was to determine the relation between eating disorders and personality traits in high school students from a educational institution in Trujillo; the sample was conformed by a total of 156 students. The instruments used were the Eating Disorder Inventory and Eysenck’s Personality Inventory. The investigation reflects that Spearmen’s statistical correlation test finds a highly significant positive correlation p <.01) between the indicators of eating behavior disorders and the personality trait Introversion-Extraversion. Likewise, Spearman's statistical correlation test indicates that the indicators of eating behavior disorders show a very significant correlation (p <0.01), inverse and to a medium degree with the personality trait Stability-Instability. On the other hand, there is no significant correlation (p> .05) between the indicators of eating behavior disorders (Drive for Thinness, Bulimia, Body Dissatisfaction, Asceticism and Maturity Fears) with the personality trait Stability- Instability. Concluding, that the correlation guideline between both variables will depend on the particularities of indicators of eating behavior disorders and the personality traits with which the correlation is made.
