Osteoarthrosis is characterized by the alteration of cartilage and subchondral bone. that appears frequently as of the forty years and advanced ages. Osteoarthrosis of the hip is not very prevalent in Jamaica, South Africa, and regions of China (1-4%) compared to European countries, where it reaches up to 25%. With respect to the knees, a higher prevalence of osteoarthrosis was demonstrated radiologically among women from Beijing (China) compared to the Caucasian population of the United States. It is estimated that 70-90% of those older than 75 years have some radiological sign of OA of the hands, with 10% of these patients being symptomatic. It is important and beneficial for public health, because it will allow us to provide a correct treatment of chronic pain in the elderly (antidepressants, anticonvulsants) and psychological support, which will allow you to improve your family relationships and socialization, since the pain and depression are symptoms that frequently associate and overlap, making it difficult to differentiate one symptom from another. Depression is a negative state of mind, which makes the patient lose the ability and desire to face any situation, and everyday life. The objective to determine if depression, increases chronic pain by osteoarthrosis in adults, where the technique of review of medical records will be used.
