The chisquare statistical test was used for the qualitative variables; to verify the statistical significance of the associations found; there was considered significant if the possibility of making mistakes is less than 5% (p <0.05). The odds ratio (OR) of maternal urinary infection status was obtained as regards its association with the presence of maternal obesity; The calculation of the 95% confidence interval of the aforementioned statistician will be carried out. Results: Statistical analysis of the variables under study of 184 pregnant women with advanced maternal age, with or without urinary tract infection, and obese and non-obese; it was obtained that obesity 35.4% of cases versus 20.9% in controls, with an odds ratio (OR) of 2.07 and CI: 1.05 - 4.07, chi square 4.54 [p. <0.05], this being statistically significant. No significant differences were observed in relation to the demographic variables, parity or origin, gestational trimester, as well as body mass index.
