This research was done in Walter Cruz Vilca de Miramar hospital from June through December 2017. The sample consisted of 42 older adults of both sexes and were part of the ““Young hearts““ group. In order to collect data, there were two questionnaires given. The first questionnaire identified cognitive impairment and the second questionnaire determined the lifestyle. From the first questionnaire pertaining to cognitive impairment the results are the following: out of the 42 older adults questioned 35.7% presented a moderate level of cognitive impairment, 40.5% presented a low level of cognitive impairment, and 23.8% showed no evidence of any impairment. From the second questionnaire pertaining to lifestyle the results are the following: out of the 42 older adults questioned 38.1% presented a healthy lifestyle, and 61.9% presented an unhealthy lifestyle. From the data collected, it is determined that 35.7% out of the older adults that do not live a healthy lifestyle also have a moderate level of cognitive impairment. It is also determined that 16.7% out of the older adults that live a healthy lifestyle show no evidence of cognitive impairment.
