determine the influence of Occupational Noise and hearing loss in Maintenance and laundry worlers of the “Hospital Belén de Trujillo” MATERIAL AND METHODS: An observational and comparative correlational study. The population were integrated by 52 maintenance and laundry workers of the “Hospital Belén de Trujillo” exposed to occupational noise. RESULTS: The prevalence of hearing loss in the laundry sector exposed to constant noise was 42.9%. The prevalence of hearing loss in the maintenance sector exposed to intermittent noise was 57.1%. No statistically significant difference in the ear decrease noise and type of noise in each sector (p = 0.606). The average exposure time (years) in those exposed to continuous noise was 14.6 ± 13.1 and in those exposed to intermittent noise of 16.3 ± 10.4; test result T-student = 0.352; no statistically significant difference between the two sectors (p = 0.736). The prevalence of hearing loss in the group <10 years of exposure to noise was 22.2% and 77.8% in the group whose exposure was> 10years. The average age of those exposed to continuous noise was 48.4 ± 13.8 and exposed to intermittent noise was 45.5 ± 14.2, test result T-student = 0.529, with no statistically significant difference between the ages of two sectors (p = 0602). FINDING: There is no relationship between type of noise with hearing loss in workers exposed to intermittent noise in the maintenance and the constant noise of laundry.
