Valor de la proteína C reactiva como predictor de mortalidad en sepsis severa en el Hospital Jamo II - 2 Tumbes

Abstract

Determinar si la proteína c reactiva tiene valor como predictor de mortalidad en pacientes con sepsis severa en el Hospital Jamo II-2 Tumbes.

Material y métodos: Estudio de pruebas diagnósticas, retrospectivo, observacional, en 88 pacientes con sepsis severa. Se calculó la sensibilidad, especificidad, valor predictivo positivo y negativo. Se aplicó el test de chi cuadrado y área bajo la curva.

Resultados: La proteína C si tiene valor predictivo de mortalidad en pacientes con sepsis severa, siendo el mejor punto de corte de proteína c reactiva e 15 mg/dl correspondiéndole una sensibilidad, especificidad, valor predictivo positivo y negativo de 79%, 80%, 66%, 87%; respectivamente. El área bajo la curva fue de 0.83.

Conclusiones: La proteína C reactiva ofrece el mejor perfil predictivo con gran significancia estadística para mortalidad en sepsis severa cuando se toma como punto de corte el valor de 15 mg/dl. El área bajo la curva calculada le confiere exactitud intermedia.

Conclusions: The CRP provides the best predictive profile with high statistical significance for mortality in severe sepsis when taken as a cutoff value of 15 mg / dl. The calculated area under the curve gives intermediate accuracy.
