Burnout Syndrome is a three-dimensional entity, consisting of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and lack of personal fulfillment that results from the conditions of work or workload. Objective: To determine the influence of Burnout syndrome on the teaching performance of the teachers of the School of Medicine of the Private University Antenor Orrego. The hypothesis was: The presence of Burnout Syndrome significantly influences the teaching performance of the teachers of the Faculty of Health Sciences. Methodology: The research was correlational cross-sectional, the sample population was constituted by 55 teachers and 395 students who performed the performance evaluation. The technique used was the survey. The instrument: Burnout Measurement Test (Maslach Burnout Inventory - Educater Surney MBI- ES); Applied to teachers consists of 22 Likert-type items. In the students, the questionnaire was used to measure teacher performance; Consists of 56 Likert items. The main results: 65.5% of teachers have an average level and 18.2% have a high level of Emotional Exhaustion, in the dimension Depersonalization 65.5% of teachers have a mean level and 18.2% have a high level of depersonalization. In the Personal Realization Dimension, 65.5% of teachers had an average level and 16.4% had a low level of personal achievement and 65.5% of teachers found regular and optimal performance in 18.2% of their teaching performance. Conclusions: In Burnout syndrome 52.7 %% of the Teachers of the VI and VII Cycle the Professional School of Medicine of the Private University Antenor Orrego present evidence of Burnout syndrome in the middle level and 23.7 %% of teachers present the syndrome Burnout on the high level; In the Teaching Performance, 65.5% of students think that teachers have a regular performance and 16.4% believe that they perform poorly. From the obtained results it can be evidenced that the Burnout syndrome does not influence significantly in the performance of the teachers, since they present an average level with tendency to high of the syndrome, and a regular performance with low tendency to the deficient one.
