OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the association between overweight / obesity and testicular volume and penis length in children aged 4 to 14 years. MATERIAL AND METHODS: An observational, analytical, cross-sectional study was carried out that evaluated 161 children who attended pediatric services and pediatric surgery at the General Hospital of Jaen during the months of March to May 2018. A total of 83 children met the BMI criteria abnormal group I and group I and 78 children formed group II. RESULTS: The prevalence of abnormal BMI (overweight and obesity) was 51.55%; the mean age in group I and II were 7.65 ± 2.66 and 7.91 ± 3.16 respectively (p > 0.05); the weight and the BMI between the groups had significant differences, 35.29 ± 12.52 and 26.42 ± 9.08 kg (p < 0.001) and, 21.01 ± 3.10 and 16.30 ± 1.48 kg / m2 (p < 0.001) respectively. The length, width and testicular volume of both the right and left side did not show significant differences; however, the length of the penis in group I and II were 39.31 ± 6.72 mm and 43.82 ± 10.00 mm respectively (p < 0.001). No differences were found between Tanner and the study groups. CONCLUSIONS: The length of the penis is associated with overweight and obesity in children aged 4 to 14 years, but not the testicular volume.
