The present thesis, aims to carry out the Disaster Risk Management of the Covicorti Oxidation Lagoons, El Cortijo and propose a system for the treatment of industrial wastewater of tanneries in the City of Trujillo and Adjunct Districts. The various chromium compounds (Cr + 3 and Cr + 6) pose a great threat to the environment and man due to their harmful effects. Intoxications are manifested in renal, gastrointestinal, liver, kidney, thyroid gland, and bone marrow lesions, and the body's rate of elimination is very slow. The leather tanning industries use Cr salts in their processes, which generate quantities of liquid effluents with high content of this metal, which must be removed in order to comply with environmental legislation. In the present research work a review of the scientific literature of the electrochemical processes used in the treatment of effluents of the tannery industry was carried out. The main objective of analysis of the different methods was the removal of chromium (Cr + 3 and Cr + 6), dyes, and organic matter, among other contaminants present in the wastewater under study. For this purpose, factors that lead to better yields in the process were considered, being some: environmental, economic, kinetic This thesis presents proposals of Technologies applicable in a wide range of systems of treatment of industrial residual waters of tanneries and particularly effective for the elimination of heavy metals. Which are Electrocoagulation and using membranes of cellulose acetate.Each of them offers a practical and viable solution in economic, environmental and continuous improvement of the processes, allowing us to think about sustainable and responsible production x Also, a comparative study of electrochemical technologies was carried out in front of other conventional treatments of wastewater of the tannery industry. The main conclusions obtained were that the non-treatment of tannery effluents represents a serious environmental and technological problem and that electrochemical methods are a good alternative solution and are being increasingly considered.
