The development of this thesis arises with the objective of protecting and reducing the deterioration of the structures of the bridges and walls of prosecution by the action of the sediment transport both in suspension and of the bottom in the section Alameda - Tomabal in the river Virú , as well as the protection of crops located in the surrounding areas, as opposed to the irregular flow regime between January and March, areas that are likely to be flooded by maximum floods on the Viru River, which could cause large floods economic losses. These structures are exposed to the erosive effects of sediment transport, due to which the structures would collapse causing interruption of vehicular traffic and damage to crop areas, harming the inhabitants as occurred in the ““El Niño““ phenomenon in the year 1998. For this reason our project will implement the so-called structures (sleepers) where the sediments will be deposited thereby reducing the passage of the sediments and therefore the deterioration of the structures of prosecution and / or bridges. Topographic studies will be carried out in the Alameda-Tomalbal section and the data will be imported to Civil3D and then exported to the HEC-RAS program and hydraulic modeling, with return periods of (T=10 years; T=50 years; T=100 years). In this way we will place the sediment retention structures at strategic points.
