The objective of the present investigation was to identify the factors related to the negative attitude toward the Papanicolaou test in women of the Melvin Jones Health Center 2018, for which an observational study of an explanatory type was carried out in a sample of 84 women aged 50 to 64 years to whom a survey validated by expert judgment was applied, with reliability according to Cronbrach's alpha between 0.76 and 0.88; through this it was obtained as results that the sociocultural factors such as age (pvalue 0.388), level of education (p-value 0.187), marital status (p-value 0.250) and religion (p-value 0.574) didn´t have relationship with the negative attitude, but if a statistically significant relationship was found between the economic factors such as the occupation (p-value of 0.005) and the type of assurance (p- value 0.007) with the negative attitude towards the Papanicolaou test, as well as part of the reproductive factors such as the age at which he initiated his sexual relations (p-value 0.024), number of sexual partners (p-value 0.023) and number of births (p-value 0.037) they presented a statistically significant relationship, regarding to psychological factors (p-valor 0.931) no statistically significant relationship was found with the negative attitude towards the Papanicolaou tes
