To determine the main risk factors associated with prematurity in Peru Friendship Hospital Santa Rosa Piura period January to December 2014 Material and Methods: We made an analytic, observational, retrospective, cases and controls. The population consisted of 165 infants according to inclusion and exclusion criteria established, divided into two groups: preterm and term infants Results: Statistical analysis of the study variables as factors associated with prematurity was: Maternal age (p <0.05), gestational age (p<0.05), Source (p <0.05, OR: 3.227), infections during pregnancy (p <0.05, OR: 0.209), type of maternal infection presented in pregnancy (p <0.05, OR: 3,396), number of fetuses (p <0.05, OR: 2.943), hypertensive disorder (p <0.05, OR: 0.203), presence of anemia in pregnancy (p <0.05), degree of anemia (p <0.05, OR: 2,942), abnormal amniotic fluid volume (p <0.05) prenatal controls (p <0.05, OR: 4,242) Conclusions: Within maternal factors associated with prematurity: Maternal age, gestational age, Source, infections during pregnancy, maternal infection rate presented in pregnancy, number of fetuses, hypertensive disorder, presence of anemia in pregnancy, degree of anemia, alteration of the volume of amniotic fluid, prenatal checkups.
