The present study was performed in the city of Trujillo in 20 Canis familiaris, adults, with ehrlichiosis of both sexes and different races, diagnosed by the ELISA test, Treated with oral doxycycline at doses of 10 mg / kg, every 24 hours for a period of 14 days, who underwent ecoglycated cystocentesis to obtain sterile urine samples, in order to evaluate alterations in uroanalysis At 7 and 14 days post treatment. The urinary aspect did not show variations from the beginning to the end of the investigation, the urinary density initially showed urines hyposostenuric, which became normostenuric at day 7, and are maintained until the end of the treatment. In the urinary sediment, the leukocytes, red cells, epithelial cells and cylinders were evaluated, not finding statistical differences in leukocytes and epithelial cells during the study period, however the red cells showed statistical variations, evidencing a decrease, similarly happens with The cylinders, showing a dramatic decrease until the end of the treatment. Crystaluria showed a marked decrease in the percentage of crystals at the end of treatment. Urinary biochemistry, which included the study of pH, urobilinogen and bilirubin did not show significant changes during treatment, however, ketone bodies increased after day 7. Proteinuria showed a marked decrease at the end of treatment. We conclude that doxycycline as a first choice treatment at a written dose of 10 mg / kg every 24 hours shows conclusive improvements in the urinary parameters of Canis familiaris with ehrlichiosis.
