The Virú River belong to the basin that has the same name, it has an irregular flow regime increasing between the months of January to May. Due to the erosive action of the river and the streams that descend from the Andes Mountains to the Pacific Ocean, giving it a moving bed, featuring small islands and drag clogging material. Exposed areas to be flooded by maximum flood, which could cause significant losses to the residents of the area as happened in the phenomenon “El Niño” in the year 1998 were identified; that is why this thesis was made ““HYDRAULIC DESIGN AND STRUCTURAL OF LEVEES FOR CHANNELING OF VIRÚ RIVER BETWEEN TOMABAL AND ZARAQUE, VIRÚ PROVINCE - DEPARTMENT OF LA LIBERTAD““, in this paper I will directly benefit 124 areas growing in the private sector as the existing irrigation infrastructure in the surrounding areas built by the regional government of La Libertad, such as Chanquín cannel, Chavimochic discharge channel, among others are also protected. Topographic studies were performed in the study reach identifying critical points and the area of influence of the project was also divided into two zones by reference to the existing speed bump (area before the speed bump after speed bump and area) and used a slope 8.5 ‰. Hydrological analysis determined that the flow rates were adjusted to the Log Pearson Type III distribution, obtaining a design flow of 382.95 m3 / s for a return period of 50 years, with a risk of 33% and service life of 20 years. The soil survey carried out allowed us to meet the conformant stuff was recorded in its generality poorly graded, with or without the presence of fine sand with few fines.
