The present study was aimed to evaluate the aesthetic perception of facial profile grin considering the element II between dentists, dentistry students and common people. The research design was comparative, observational, transversal and prospective. A total of 273 participants who were divided into three groups of 91 dentists, 91 students of Dentistry and 91 ordinary people who met the selection criteria established studied. The results showed significant differences in the aesthetic perception of retrusive profiles without alteration (p <0.05) greater aesthetic appeal appreciating by ordinary people that dentists and dentistry students. Statistically significant differences between the evaluated images (p <0.05), being more attractive image without alteration to the common people and the image with 2 mm protrusion for the other two groups. We conclude that ordinary people showed greater aesthetic perception in evaluating profiles Element II or slightly retrusive. The protrusive images up to 2 mm upper incisor were more attractive to dentists and students of dentistry, while the image in Element II was more attractive to the common people
