The purpose of this project is to explain the application of a logistics management design, helps to improve the competitive advantage of the hardware business ““The Engineer““ in the construction market, establishing a proposal for an organized system within this business allowing it to work with greater effectiveness and efficiency to improve performance in the delivery and distribution of goods to meet the needs and expectations of customers. To that end, it was considered as a statement of the problem, to what extent doe the design of a logistics management system and action plan would benefit the hardware business The Engineer” improve its operational process and generate a competit ive advantage? The hypothesis, the design of a logistics management system as an action plan geared to the hardware store ““EIRL Engineer““ to build competitive advantage through improved operational processes, it is validated through the design Contrasting Pre experimental field design; to develop the study it was defined in three phases: In the first phase was the data collection and interview of company managers, companies in Trujillo with a sample of 94 companies from a population of 442 hardware stores. The results allowed a diagnosis of the current state of companies in the construction market and showed that most companies have a poor quality logistics management system which does not allow optimal control. In the second phase was a structured logistics management design with a specific proposal that aims for all areas of the company to be working in an orderly and organized manner. Finally in the third phase the implementation of the proposed logistics management design achieves, significant competitive advantage in terms of service and timings, for customers within the construction market.
