The present study was to determine the relation between the stage of skeletal maturity by radiographic methods carpal, of the middle finger and of cervical vertebrae in subjects from 7 to 18 years of age. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This study was of type retrospective, descriptive, cross-sectional and observational. The sample was shaped by 266 carpal and lateral cephalometric radiographs of patients taken from August 12, 2013 until December 20, 2014 and that met the inclusion criteria. The radiographs were evaluated by mean of the radiographic methods of Fishman, modified Hagg-Taranger and the method of Hassel and Farman. The correlation was evaluated by means of the coefficient of Spearman's correlation. RESULTS: Sperman's correlation was obtained as statistical results between the method of modified Hagg-Taranger and Fishman was of 0.949. Also correlation between the method of modified Hagg-Taranger and Hassel and Farman was of 0.957. Finally the correlation between the method of Fishman and Hassel and Farman was of 0.936. The method of modified Hagg-Taranger in comparison with Fishman's method to detect the maximum peak of growth puberal, as proof diagnostic obtained a sensibility of 95 % and specificity of 86.56 %.However the method of Hassel and Farman obtained a sensibility of 95 % and specificity of 77.96 %. CONCLUSIONS: Three radiographic methods have high correlation; also the method of modified Hagg-Taranger and Hassel and Farman can be used as a trustworthy method of diagnosis to detect the maximum peak of growth puberal.
