In the present study 30 patients who met the inclusion criteria were evaluated. These were classified into 3 groups: 10 patients without FDD, 10 patients with FDD grade 2 and 10 patients who experienced grade 3 FDD, a Cone Beam tomography was taken to the three groups for further examination. In these the morpholyc bone changes and the dimensions of the condyle where identified. When evaluating the images of the bone surfaces of ATM in bruxópatas adult patients, patients with grade 2 and 3 FDD, the following conditions is observed: the condyle upper surface 65%, on the Rear surface 65%, alterations in the transverse horizontal root zygoma 50% and alterations in the glenoid (deepening) 45%. It was noted that the average distance of the condylar head in patients without FDD was 11.50, however a reduction in the size of condylar head was observed in patients who presented FDD grade 2 and 3, revealing that patients with FDD grade 2 had a smaller size the condylar head compared to patients with FDD grade 3. The average height distance of the intracapsular meassurements in patients without FDD was 2.77 mm, instead an increase on this meassure was shown in patients with FDD grade 2, wich was 3.42 mm and patients with FDD grade 3 was 3.37 mm. According tomographic manifestations of bone surfaces by sex, there was no significant statistically difference between the sexes. According to the dimensions of the condylar neck significant difference was found between the sexes. The average distance of the female patients was 9.30 mm compared to male was 8.19 mm.
