The research is descriptive - correlational, cross-sectional, was performed in order to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and application of biosecurity measures in emergency nurses Bethlehem Hospital of Trujillo - 2016. The sample it consisted of 24 nurses emergency service. Data collection was performed using two instruments: the first to measure the level of knowledge on biosecurity measures; and the second an observation guide to measure the applicability of biosecurity measures. For analysis, Fisher's exact test was used, with the following results: 58% had high knowledge level, 42% average knowledge and low knowledge level not found. 87.5% of nurses apply biosecurity measures, while 12.5% do not apply the measures. Therefore, we can conclude that no significant relationship between the level of knowledge and the application of biosecurity measures with a value of p = 0.63> 0.05, meaning that there are insufficient grounds that the level of knowledge on biosafety is directly related to the level of implementation of the biosecurity measures.
