The objective of this study was to compare the dimensional changes of the mandible and anterior facial height in the stages of bone maturation by the cervical vertebra method. The sample consisted of 263 randomly selected lateral radiographs of patients aged 7 to 18 years old distributed in 6 groups, one for each stage of maturation. Determination of anterior facial height (A: N-Me) and body length (C: G-Me) and mandibular branch (R: Co-G) was performed using a computer using the DimaxisPro version 10 program. The changes were evaluated using the statistical tests Kruskal Wallis and U-Mann Whitney. The results showed statistically significant differences (p <0.05) in the A-R difference, being smaller in the stages from I to III. In these differences (A-R), as well as the difference A-C, similar results were found in females, in stages I and II and in stages I and III, respectively. Greater A-C and post-growth A-R differences were found. In conclusion, the dimensions between the anterior facial height and the length of the branch and mandibular body vary according to the stages of bone maturation by the cervical vertebrae method, showing smaller changes between stages I to III.
