In this research the effectiveness of the impregnation of seed corn (Zea mays L.) treated with clothianidin + fipronil and clothianidin + Chlorantraniliprole in control of Spodoptera frugiperda (Lepidoptera, Noctuidae) under field conditions was evaluated. The experimental work was carried out in the Campus UPAO II, in the experimental fields of the Laboratory of Entomology the corn hybrid used Insignia 860 planted in on a plot of 760.5 m 2. Two seed treatments were studied: Clothianidin + chlorantraniliprole, and clothianidin + Fipronil (4 mL / 200 g seed), that’s were compared to a check with no application. The experimental area was randomized in 9 experimental units of 16.9 x 4.8 m, in a complete block design. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Duncan test at 5% were performed to estimate differences between treatments. Assessments of percent efficiency was calculated dare the original data by Abbott's formula. The variables studied included the percentage of damaged plants, Percentage of treatment efficiency, number of germinated plants and plant height. The results showed that the application of clothianidin + chlorantraniliprole, produced the best results, with only 10% of damaged plants, on overage and by setting a higher percentage of efficiency (79%) at 19 days after planting.
