Objective: To determine the factors associated with the failure of cervical maturation in lateterm pregnant women in our population, since there are few studies in our region. Material and methods: A cases and controls study was carried out, clinical histories were reviewed between January and December 2016 at Hospital Belén de Trujillo. We included 126 late-term pregnant women, who met the selection criteria. Results: We observed that of the 4 factors studied in the objectives, 2 of them present a statistically significant relationship, such as: age> 35 years (value -p: 0.007 and IC: 1.386 - 10.991) with an OR value of 3,903; BMI> 25 (p-value: 0.023 and IC: 1.123 - 5.363) with an OR value of 2.45. The nulliparity and the antecedent of late-term pregnancy were not significant with a -p value: 0.205 and 0.614 respectively. By means of logistic regression, we observed that, from the associat ion of the 4 factors, the one that does have statist ical significance is: age ≥ 35 years (value -p: 0, 038 and IC: 1.072-11.490) with adjusted OR of 3.489; Conclusion: Factors associated with the failure of cervical maturation with misoprostol in pregnant women with lateterm pregnancy found in this study were: age ≥ 35 years, BMI ≥ 25.
