horas).
The purpose of this study was to determine the analgesic effectiveness of acetaminophen after mucogingival surgery. The prospective, longitudinal, comparative and experimental study was developed in the dental clinic from Antenor Orrego private University in the subject of Periodontology II, where 39 patients were included, in this study were distributed in two groups of 19 and 20 randomly assigned, according established criteria. In all groups, the medication started immediately after surgery and maintained for 24 hours. To determine the analgesic effectiveness of acetaminophen was applied the visual analogue scale (0-100 mm) and the information was collected through statistical tables using the Mann-Whitney test to compare the perception of pain between acetaminophen and positive control, with a significance level of 5%. The results indicate acetaminophen is effective as analgesic after mucogingival surgery and no difference in analgesic effectiveness after mucogingival surgery between acetaminophen and ibuprofen (control) at (2, 8 and 24 hours).
