Objective: Determine the effectiveness of an educational intervention on the level of knowledge on oral health and the level of oral hygiene in students of the Institution Educational “Tupac Amaru II”. Material and methods: Observational, experimental, descriptive and longitudinal study. Assessed to 50 students of the secondary 1 st during the months November and December. Was used a questionnaire before, immediately after and the month of the educational intervention; so it was held the IHOS before, immediately after and the month of the educational intervention; flipchart, multimedia canon, brochures and models were used. McNemar statistical test, was used for the analysis of results considering a significance level of 5%. Results: We found that the level of knowledge before educational intervention was regular with 60%; immediately after the educational intervention was raised to good with 72%, per month increase to 80. In addition the level of oral hygiene at the beginning was regular 4%; immediately after it rose to 96% in regular; per month increase in good with 72%, having decreased by 28% regular. Conclusions: Educational intervention was effective to increase the level of knowledge on oral health and the level of oral hygiene in students of the I.E. “Tupac Amaru II”, Florence the Mora - La Libertad, 2015.
