In this paper, the objective was to determine the amount of bacterial contamination found in chicken meat, specifically in the main markets, supermarkets and littles markets located in the district of Trujillo. This measurement was taken by counting the total amount of aerobic mesophilic microorganisms. The amount of chicken meat samples from both marketplaces was 201. The channel rinsing method was used to obtain the sample unit. For the microbiological analysis a counting of aerobic mesophilic microorganisms was performed expressed in CFU / g of sample. The results showed that there is a significant difference in the degree of bacterial contamination between samples of different studied sale places. The samples from supermarkets showed a significantly lower degree of bacterial contamination than the samples taken from main markets and littles local markets The high counts of mesophilic aerobes obtained in the main supply markets and littles zonal markets show the lack of systems of technified benefit and cold systems, as well as inadequate sanitary practices in these centers of commercialization, which puts in health risk of the consumer.
