This thesis called ““Stabilization hillside retaining walls and Environmental Impact Assessment for the Protection of Housing in the Barrio de San Isidro district of San Marcos - Huari, Ancash,““ arises from the need to improve areas with high vulnerability and risk to the population living in the neighborhood of San Isidro district of San Marcos, which due to urban growth in the neighborhood, earthquake, big drops of rain that has weakened the formation of these blocks of land in a critical area of approximately 490ml where homes are located. Also they have a great topographic instability due to projects undertaken with earthworks in order to improve the streets and sidewalks for the path to the district and excessive rainfall that exist, that generate large falls and landslides and landslides soil and rock blocks (landslides), generating considerable dangers of human and material losses. Vulnerability and risk to the population living back many years ago ; because with the passage of time these dangers have been increasing due to urbanization of the neighborhood, earthquake , big drops of rain in one way or another have weakened the formation of these blocks of land in a critical area where there are localized housing. For this thesis has done surveying, soil mechanics and structural design of retaining walls for different heights according to the location of housing. Finally an environmental impact for future implementation of the walls where they must contemplate the environmental impact mitigation measures that the resident engineer's work is responsible for ensuring, in accordance with good professional practice was held avoiding discomfort the population and a significant deterioration of the surrounding environment to work, respect the urban image and preserve the rural and peaceful character of the town.
