This descriptive study, transverse and observational, sought to determine the relationship between the level of awareness and compliance with biosafety standards in the students of the dental clinic UPAO, Trujillo 2015. The study population consisted of 99 students attending the dental clinic UPAO in comprehensive clinical courses of the semester I and II 2015-II. A questionnaire to measure the level of knowledge about biosafety standards and students classified as ““good““, ““regular““ and ““bad““ according to the score obtained, and they anonymously observe applied to assess its attitude to biosafety standards for clinical practice, getting the results ““if it meets““ and ““fails““ according to the collected data. Once you record the information collected was analyzed using frequency tables of double entry with absolute and relative values. To determine the correlation of the level of knowledge and compliance testing biosafety independence of criteria was used. It was obtained as a result that the level of knowledge did not show a statistically significant association with compliance with biosafety standards; 100% of the population, 65.7% qualifying with a degree of good knowledge, 32.3% with regular grade and only 2% wrong, 43.4% also meet a higher level of compliance and 56.6% rated low. Concluding that the knowledge level was not related to the level of compliance on biosafety standards in the students of the dental clinic UPAO.
