Objective: To determine the quality of registration of medical records of hospital services Medical, OB-GYN, Surgery and Pediatrics. Jaen General Hospital during 2014. Material and Methods: A quantitative descriptive, retrospective and cross-sectional study was conducted. The sample consisted of 384 medical records of hospitalization area belonging to the 4 services under study. Results: In general, all the stories studied, 67.45% showed an acceptable filling, ie 259. medical, medicine was the best in terms of acceptable fill (69.5%), with a ratio 6.20: 1. The filling for improvement, the poorer was Gynecology and Obstetrics, with 58.4% (73 cases) and a ratio of 0.45: 1. The areas of medicine and pediatrics had higher absolute frequencies filling acceptable compared to their own cases filler to improve, otherwise was for Obstetrics and Gynecology Surgery. The highest average score added in every part of the medical record was for Medicine with 88.3 and the lowest for Gynecology and Obstetrics, with 74.3. Conclusions: The quality log cynical stories inpatient services was mostly acceptable. For medical area, the higher quality recording was for Medicine and the poorer for Gynecology and Obstetrics.
