In order to determine the clinical and endoscopic predictors of death in patients with non-variceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding were randomly selected two groups of 40 patients. The first consisted of patients diagnosed with non-variceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding and upper endoscopy deaths among the seven following his emergency admission to Bethlehem in Trujillo Hospital during the years 2009 and 2013 days The second group consisted of patients with the same diagnosis of the previous group underwent upper endoscopy but that did not die until seven days after admission to the clinic in question during the same period days. For statistical analysis test was used Chi² setting the significance level at P <0.05, plus the odds ratio was calculated with their respective confidence interval. It was found that: comorbidity, unstable hemodynamic status and gastric aspirate blood are clinical predictors of death in patients with non-variceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding. (P <0.05) The presence of injury colitis, ulcer size greater than 2 cm and endoscopic stigmata of recent hemorrhage are endoscopic predictors of death in patients with non-variceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding. (P <0.05)
