This paper aims to investigate the impact of the corruption perception index on the economies of the countries that make up the Pacific Alliance (Peru, Mexico, Chile, Colombia) for the period 2002-2016 (60 observations per year). A descriptive correlation methodology was used in which the documental analysis technique was applied and the record sheets were used as a data collection instrument. The sample consisted of Transparency International's Corruption Perceptions Index and the Gross Domestic Product of each country, statistical data from the World Bank. Data processing was performed through the E-views program and an econometric model of ordinary least squares was run through panel data to find the quantitative relationship between the variables studied, the dependent variable being the per capita gross domestic product and the variable Independent of the Corruption Perceptions Index. When the empirical analysis was carried out, a direct relationship was obtained between the variables, a result that according to the data obtained means that an improvement in one percentage point in the Corruption Perceptions Index will generate an increase of 0.41% in the Gross Domestic Product per capita . This result allows us to accept the hypothesis that corruption negatively affected the economies of the Pacific Aquifer Alliance in the period studied.
