Objective: To determine if there is an association between dyslipidemia and Helicobacter pylori infection in patients treated at Hospital Belen de Trujillo. Material and Methods: An analytical, observational, retrospective, cross sectional study was carried out. The study population consisted of 96 adult patients; who were divided into 2 groups: with Helicobacter pylori infection and without this condition. Results: The frequency of dyslipidemia in patients with Helicobacter pylori infection was 70%. The frequency of dyslipidemia in patients with Helicobacter pylori infection wasn´t 42%. Helicobacter pylori infection is a factor associated with dyslipidemia with an odds ratio of 3.15 which was significant. The groups with Helicobacter pylori infection had a significantly higher mean total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides; and significantly lower for HDL cholesterol than the group without helicobacter pylori infection. Conclusions: There is an association between dyslipidemia and Helicobacter pylori infection in patients treated at Hospital Belen de Trujillo.
