Expansión agroindustrial: implicancias en el desequilibrio territorial del distrito de Virú, provincia de Virú, departamento de La Libertad

Abstract

El Distrito de Virú, en los últimos veinticinco años viene sufriendo una serie de cambios y modificaciones en su estructura social, económica, física y medio ambiental; la cual se inicia con la construcción de las Obras mayores del Proyecto Especial CHAVIMOCHIC y se acentúa luego con el posicionamiento y posterior expansión de la actividad agroindustrial. El estudio plantea que estas modificaciones han configurado escenarios de desequilibrio territorial en distintos ámbitos y tienen al crecimiento progresivo de la actividad agroindustrial como su principal gestor. El determinar en qué medida el crecimiento de la actividad agroindustrial ha promovido los desequilibrios territoriales es la principal finalidad del presente estudio; así mismo resulta necesario identificar tanto los impactos del crecimiento agroindustrial en el distrito de Virú, como determinar también, los escenarios del desequilibrio territorial. Conocer las potencialidades del distrito de Virú y luego entender que el crecimiento de la actividad agroindustrial debe de ser asumido como una oportunidad de desarrollo, corresponden también los objetivos del presente estudio. Finalmente introducir el concepto de Cohesión Territorial como un aspecto importante para lograr revertir los desequilibrios, resulta un aporte de la presente investigación.

The Virú district, in the last twenty five years has suffered a series of changes and modifications in their social, economic, physical and environmental structure; which begins with the construction of the largest Works Special Project CHAVIMOCHIC and then accentuated with the positioning and subsequent expansion of the agroindustrial activity. The study suggests that these changes are configured scenarios territorial imbalance in various fields and have the progressive growth of the agroindustrial activity as its lead manager. Determining to what extent the growth of the agroindustrial activity has promoted regional imbalances is the main purpose of this study; so it is necessary to identify both the impacts of agribusiness growth in the Viru district, as determined also scenarios territorial imbalance. Knowing the potential Viru district and then understand that the growth of the agroindustrial activity should be taken as an opportunity for development, also are the objectives of this study. Finally introduce the concept of Territorial Cohesion as an important step towards reversing the imbalances aspect, it is a contribution to this investigation.
