The goal of this study is to elaborate a risk management plan for the water and sewer system in Sayapampa, distric of Curgos, province of Sanchez Carrion, department of la Libertad. This study is relevant since Curgos is the district with the least number of water systems in the nation and the Federal government has started the development of water projects in order to reduce the poverty levels. In this study the methodology and guidelines suggested by the Project Management Institute (PMI) was followed. In addition, outputs from Crystal ball were taken into consideration for the quantitative analyses. In this context, a risk management plan for the water and sewer system in Sayapampa was developed. To begin with, all the potential risks were identified with conventional methods, and then a risk management plan was established in order to be used in similar projects. All risks were evaluated qualitatively and quantitatively. Finally, a response plan is developed for the water and sewer system in Sayapampa. In the response plan, only the high risk events were considered. However, all risks are presented in case a change in conditions would make these low risk events relevant. In the quantitative analysis for the operating cost, a deficiency is observed. The current estimate would cover only 53.17% in case an adverse event happens. The minimum acceptable cut off is 55% due to the Project already being executed and the cost is only for contingency events. In the quantitative schedule analysis in Sayapampa, if adverse events are present, 13 months would be necessary to cover with 80% of certainty all the project stages.
